To the Editor: I am responding to the letter written by Sarah Johnson in the Aug. 12 issue of the Thompson Citizen entitled, "Reader concerned about quality of life for Northern horses." I have owned horses of varying breeds in Thompson since 1980.

To the Editor: I wish to further clarify my opinion regarding my letter about the local horses published on Aug. 12.

It's summer time, even if the Thompson weather doesn't seem to have gotten the message. And taking a summer vacation is charity to your family and co-workers. It's not just a time for you to relax, unwind and find your smile again.

Investing in the future of our mining industry

I am an animal lover. I always have been. Throughout my entire childhood and adult life I've been blessed to have at least one dog and usually a cat as part of my family. Recently my family's 11-year-old golden retriever, Sasha, passed away.

To the Editor: It's now two years since I confronted NDP Minister of Health Theresa Oswald with a then two-year old report on maternity care outlining the "troubling regional disparities" in Northern Manitoba.

Canadian Mutual Aid Resource Sharing Agreement: Not a very exciting name, we agree. But every summer it proves in one or more hot spots in Canada to be one of the more important agreements most of us will never read.
