A forward and defenceman from Thompson are the Norman Northstars’ featured players this week.
Ian Snooks, 17, is a 5’8”, 163-pound forward who is third on team scoring with 12 goals and 14 assists in 25 games this season. He has scored 10 points on the power play, including six goals, and has one game-winning tally and 28 penalty minutes so far this season. His uniform sponsor is McMunn & Yates.
Patrolling the blueline is 17-year-old Carter Bassett, 5’7” and 140 pounds, who has two assists and 30 penalty minutes in his first 24 games with the Northstars. Basset’s uniform sponsor is Paul Iveson Mechanical.
The 8-14-3 Northstars are currently ninth in league standings with 19 points, the same as the eighth-place Winnipeg Bruins who have played four fewer games. They return home Dec. 4-5 to take on the fourth-place Eastman Selects after going 2-4 in six road games over the past two weekends.
