During their Jan. 9 general meeting, members of the Legion Ladies Auxiliary presented a $3,000 cheque to representatives from the Tutus and Turns Dance Committee.

The committee’s main goal is to help offset costs incurred by Aurora Dance Academy when they send their pupils to competitions or bring in out-of-town choreographers.

According to Legion Ladies Auxiliary treasurer June Bourguignon, the Aurora dancers earned this money after volunteering at their Remembrance Day Tea event.

In the past, the Legion Ladies have donated the proceeds from their Remembrance Day and Mother’s Day Tea events to local air cadets, youth bowlers, the Thompson Northern Torpedoes Swim Club, the Thompson Regional Humane Society and the Thompson General Hospital.
