Second-degree murder charge laid after 25-year-old Norway House woman dies of injuries from assault

Police were advised to check on woman by victim of another assault they responded to Oct. 3.

A 30-year-old man is charged with second-degree murder in connection to the Oct. 3 death of a Norway House woman.

A 30-year-old Norway House man is charged with second-degree murder after a 25-year-old woman died Oct. 3 from injuries sustained in an assault.

Norway House RCMP responded to an assault around 12:30 a.m. Sunday and were advised by the male victim to check on a woman at a residence as he believed she was being assaulted. Police went to the house and found the woman seriously injured. She was taken to hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Don Travis Forbister was charged Oct. 5 and remanded into custody for a provincial court appearance in Thompson scheduled for Oct. 6.

Norway House RCMP, RCMP Major Crime Services and RCMP Forensic Identification Services continue investigating.
