July 3, 2002 – May 22, 2017

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected departure from our lives of our beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew and cousin on May 22, 2017.

Dylan arrived in our lives July 3, 2002 in Thompson to very proud parents Shane and Li, joining big brother James and completing the family.

Dylan’s presence in life was a light that shone brightly and lastingly for everyone who met him. He remembered and engaged everyone with infectious enthusiasm that reflected the best of his and his family’s own life and experiences, yet remained something special about Dylan himself.

One of the most sincerely caring and genuine young adults you could know, Dylan embodied the best of both Mom and Dad, with all the support of an older brother who loves him so much more than he could ever believe.

While his passion was everything hockey, his interests had no limit. He excelled in school, proud of not just his own accomplishments, but every event he did with his classmates, even if it was just about supporting the people involved in any event. There was no situation he came away from where he failed to find the positives to take away from the experience.

His most recent initiatives reflected everything life had allowed him to learn, running a hockey playoff pool which he was leading, becoming the family champ at ping pong with a table in the middle of the living room at home and waiting on his order of fidgets to resell to the local community (with some markup of course).

The amount you are missed cannot be measured and you will never be forgotten. Your amazing views on life are what give us the strength to get up and go on each day, but those days will never be the same without you.

Dylan is survived by mother Li, brother James, grand-mother Ditta, uncle Sean, aunt Teresa, cousins Keenan, Austin & Ethan, great-aunt Chris, cousin Richard and many family living in China.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Dylan’s memory at /www.gofundme.com/dylan-cripps-memorial-scholarship or to your preferred educational or community support organization.

A Celebration of Life was held Monday, May 29 at 2pm at the Royal Canadian Legion in Thompson, MB with Pastor Dan Murphy officiating.

An online Book of Memories is available to view and leave condolences at www.boardmanfh.com

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the countless friends, class and sport mates and community members who have reached out with their assistance and support in this extremely trying and difficult time.
