Sadly on November 8, 2018 at 2:15 pm, Nello Radesic, of Thompson, Manitoba passed away peacefully with his son Randy and grandsons Scott and Levi by his side at the Brandon General Hospital.
Nello was born in Trieste, Italy in 1935 where he lived with his family before migrating to Canada in 1957. He worked his way through Canada and upon landing in Saskatchewan met the love of his life Adeline whom he married in 1962. They finally settled in Thompson, Manitoba where they started their family and his career at Inco. He also moonlighted as a painter and carpenter as a second job.
In his younger days Nello was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, quading and numerous other activities. Another favourite pastime of his was making wine from grapes with his friends and then enjoying a glass or two!
One of Nello’s dreams was to become a Canadian citizen which he accomplished in 2016. Following this he was able to obtain his passport and finally go on a long awaited trip to Arizona with his son Randy. He also never lost his love of the outdoors and if he wasn’t out for coffee with friends you would find him watching his wildlife programs. He was a member of the wildlife organization and was also a current member of the Knights of Columbus and the steelworkers union where he played Santa every year for sick children in the hospital as well as for their community movie day!
Nello was pre-deceased by his wife Adeline and leaves behind children John, Maria, Camelia, Randy and grandchildren Angelina, Nicholas, Scott, Payten, Rory, Ryan and Levi.
Special thanks to the staff at Brandon General Hospital, Doctors Anderson, Samuel, and Rich, the surgical recovery team, the palliative care team as well as the city of Brandon paramedic team for their services and support.
