On Saturday June 3, 2017 Donald Thaddeus Dnistransky passed away quietly at the age of 81.
Don was a first generation Canadian, who’s parents immigrated to Canada from Poland in the early 1900’s. He is the last of 7 siblings.
Don leaves behind his wife Verlie, 4 children; Richard (Maria) Dnistransky, Carla (Joe) Buchan, Daniel Dnistransky, Jason (Tonya) Dnistransky, 11 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson.
Don had an adventurous life, spending his early years on the farm, a few years with the Royal Canadian Navy followed by a move to Thompson Manitoba to start his life at INCO in 1961. He settled in the North where he remained until he retired at age 57.
He loved carpentry and building. He made his children a 2 story club house, Igloos that slept 2, a log cabin at Paint Lake and numerous pieces of original furniture. He was a quiet man, honest and humble. He liked a good drink, a piece of kubasa and a smoke to end his day. Don along with his wife Verlie retired in Penticton BC, enjoying the Okanagan and all that it offered.
He was loved and will be missed.
