Youth with outstanding warrants arrested while carrying an air pistol

A 17-year-old with multiple outstanding warrants was arrested at the Thompson Regional Community Centre around 10 a.m. Nov. 7 while carrying an air pistol.

Thompson RCMP were alerted that the youth was in the recreation centre and placed them under arrest for failing to comply with a court order. A search of the youth’s backpack turned up the air pistol. The youth faces an additional charge of breaching a court order for carrying a weapon and also faces a charge of possessing a weapon dangerous to the public peace.

The suspect was remanded into custody.
