Winnipeg man charged with uttering threats, firearms offences after gunshots reported at Paint Lake

A 21-year-old Winnipeg man was charged with multiple firearms offences Oct. 6 after Thompson rural RCMP responded to a report of gunshots at Paint Lake.

The gunshots were reported around 4:34 a.m. and the man is charged with uttering death threats, recklessly discharging a firearm, pointing a firearm and careless use of a firearm. He was remanded into custody.

While officers were responding to the location of the gunshots, a 26-year-old man from Winnipeg was found sleeping behind the wheel of a vehicle. He failed a roadside screening test and was charged with impaired driving after providing breath samples that were over the legal limit. He was released to appear in court at a later date.
