Ten Thousand Villages sale co-ordinators Leona Mayer, left, and Greg Stott, right, donated $800 to Wapanohk Community School principal Kathleen Kelson, centre, for the school’s breakfast program March 21. The donation, made on behalf of the Lutheran-United Church of Thompson, represents 10 per cent of the sales from the Ten Thousand Villages fair trade craft and food sale held at the church last November. This portion of total sales goes to the host on the understanding that it will be given back to the community. Since 2012, the Lutheran-United Church of Thompson,  a co-operative ministry between the former St. John’s United Church and Advent Lutheran Church, has been able to donate over $6,000 to the breakfast program.  Other organizations in Thompson supporting youth have also received donations. The four-day 2018 sale was run by co-ordinators Kate Roth, Stott and Mayer along with former Thompsonites Dale and Bea Shantz and other volunteers.  The volunteers thank the community for continuing to support Ten Thousand Villages.
