Update: Assault charges laid after fight outside Thompson Inn involving a machete and an axe

Multiple people were arrested after a fight involving weapons such as an axe and a machete June 3.

Thompson RCMP were dispatched to a report of a group of men fighting outside the Thompson Inn around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday. Investigation determined that there was violent altercation with weapons that led to several people involved being seriously injured. One group of men fled the scene in a taxi, which was damaged by a man with an axe. When a number of people involved in the incident later attended Thompson General Hospital for treatment of injuries, another fight almost ensued.

Thomas Constant, 28, of Thompson, has been charged with aggravated assault, two counts of assault with a weapon, mischief and possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

Cody Spence, 30, of Thompson, is charged with assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose and four counts of failing to comply with a court order.
