Lion’s Manor 55 president Nick DiVirgilio, left, accepted a $500 donation Oct. 10 from Shoppers Drug Mart cashier Ian Hykway, second from left, and cosmetics manager Rhonda Neilson, second from right, along with Lions Manor 55 vice-president Penny Byer. The money, which included donations by customers as well as from Shoppers Drug Mart itself, will go directly to the cost of constructing the 30-unit seniors’ housing cooperative on Station Road in Thompson, which is expected to be ready for occupancy in the summer of 2019. Hykawy was the cashier who collected the most donations from customers.
