Flin Flon hosted its second Pride parade Aug. 18 as part of a weekend full of activities that included a flag-raising, children and family activities and a “Second Prom” social.
“This is our second year celebrating Pride and the environment and feeling of the weekend was so powerful,” said the Flin Flon Pride committee in a Facebook post. “We were all united and truly family. For now, we are going to say thank you Flin Flon for the love, acceptance and kindness you have shown us in the short period of time we have been a committee. This feeling is what pride is truly all about, and for that, we can say we are succeeding.”
Thompson’s Pride North of 55 will host its fifth Pride celebration with a Pride march from the Thompson Regional Community Centre to MacLean Park Sept. 22, followed by a barbecue and musical performances by Between the Ditches and The Zogs.
