R.D. Parker Collegiate Envirothon Club members Niyati Chanana, left, and Siffat Rattan, right, both in Grade 9, decorate wreaths made from sustainably harvested boughs and upcycled Christmas decorations at the high school Nov. 8. The wreaths are sold at Christmas craft sales to raise money for the club’s trips  so that students can attend at no cost. The wreaths cost $25  and can be returned following the holiday season so the decorations can be recycled for use again next year. Envirothon Club provides hands-on opportunities to learn about and practise environmental awareness and stewardship and study the impacts of climate change. The club members compete in a regional competition, which is being held in Thompson this year, as well as a provincial one.
