Mother and daughter real estate team, Maureen and Tana McCartney have taken their skills and client base to Royal LePage.

Maureen and Tana have been working as a team for over four years, since Tana received her real estate license. The two are looking for a fresh start said Maureen, and they hope to bring a new look and ideas to Thompson.

"It was time for a change, and new beginnings of sorts," said Maureen, "we liked what we saw in Royal LePage in Brandon, and they're really set up for a small town market."

The team is made up of Maureen and Tana, who are the real estate advisors, Brian Baker and Brad Munn are partners, and Miriam Pattison is the sales manager and broker.

"We're really excited for this opportunity," said McCartney, "we're looking forward to working with the other realtors in town, and bringing a new look and a new choice to the people of Thompson."

Maureen is more than familiar with the real estate market in Thompson, as she has worked here for the past 25 years as an agent, most recently with RE/MAX Thompson. In the years previous, she worked in property management.

"There is still competition out there," said McCartney, "but you need to maintain a working relationship with the other realtors."

For the time being, Tana and Maureen will be working from home, with no immediate plans to open an office.

"Maybe we'll have an office down the road at some point, but for now we're happy where we are," said McCartney, "I've always brought most of my clients to my home anyways so it's not a big change."

The team launched their new look at an open house at the Juniper Centre on Feb. 9 where they were joined by friends, co-workers and clients.

Maureen and Tana thanked everyone in attendance for their support and said that they look forward to bringing the same high level customer service that has been attached to the McCartney name for years past, and moving forward.
