Four people were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries May 11 after a head-on collision north of Thompson in which alcohol likely played a role.

Thompson RCMP responded to the accident on Highway 391 about two kilometres north of the Miles Hart Bridge around 8 p.m. Saturday.

A northbound vehicle with one occupant and a southbound vehicle with three occupants collided, causing the southbound vehicle to roll over into the ditch on the west side of the highway. The other vehicle was found facing the wrong direction in the northbound lane.

The 29-year-old female driver of the northbound vehicle and the three occupants of the southbound vehicle were all taken to Thompson General Hospital for treatment. Alcohol impairment is suspected to have been a factor in the crash and Thompson RCMP are still investigating.
