Winter Wonderland gives away food and over $2,500 to community organizations

This year's Winter Wonderland at McCreedy Campground in Thompson put on by Colleen Smook and her family, raised $2,552.35 for local community organizations.

This year's Winter Wonderland at McCreedy Campground in Thompson put on by Colleen Smook and her family, raised $2,552.35 for local community organizations.

The event features illuminated sings from different businesses and organizations throughout the community that celebrate the holiday season.

A total of $387.35 was given to the Wapanohk Community School breakfast program, in which Smook is a volunteer; $500 was donated to the Thompson Humane Society; $400 went to the Heritage North Museum; $400 went to A Port in the Storm, and $850 went to the Lion's Journey for Sight, which Smook is also heavily involved in.

Winter Wonderland also donated food to the Salvation Army food back in Thompson.
