A warrant of arrest has been issued by the Thompson RCMP for Jeffery Bighetty, who is currently charged with robbery; assault causing bodily harm and mischief.
A cab driver suffered facial injuries and had to be taken to the Thompson General Hospital after what police suspect was an attack from Bighetty on July 5 at around 9 p.m. outside 15 Ashberry Pl.
Bighetty is thought to have fled the area with a quantity of cash. The cab driver was later treated and released at the hospital.
The cab's in-car camera system provided the RCMP with images of two people riding in the cab, one of whom they suspect to be Bighetty, when the assault occurred. They were also travelling with an adult female.
Police say Bighetty is currently at large. Anyone with information about him or the other male he was with is encouraged to contact the Thompson RCMP detachment at 677-6909 or Manitoba Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
