Thompson RCMP arrest two people connected with drugs and weapons charges

Thompson RCMP have arrested and charged two people in connection with the seizure of drugs and weapons. On March 24, RCMP executed a search warrant at a residence in the Burntwood area of Thompson.

On March 24, RCMP executed a search warrant at a residence in the Burntwood area of Thompson. During the search police uncovered a large quantity of marijuana and cannabis resin as well as a smaller amount of morphine and cocaine. A loaded .22 calibre handgun was also seized from the residence. Total street value of the drugs seized is approximately $30,000.

RCMP arrested 45-year-old David Smith of Thompson, who was remanded into custody on two charges of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime and numerous firearms-related charges. Marianne Tabb, a 44-year-old Thompson woman, has also been charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking. She has been released from custody to appear in Thompson provincial court on April 16.
