The first Norman Northstars alumni game was played Dec. 26, with 40 former players strapping on their skates to raise money for Thompson Minor Baseball.

Mayor Bill Comaskey asked the organizing committee for the 2001 Manitoba Scott Tournament of Hearts women's curling championship if the event would get the same television exposure in Thompson that it would if it were being held further south.
