The Thompson Chamber of Commerce gave its unanimous approval to the Thompson Airport Authority to proceed with the takeover of Thompson Municipal Airport from Transport Canada.

A survey by the School District of Mystery Lake found that 45 per cent of elementary students identified themselves as non-aboriginal and 50 per cent as aboriginal. At the high school level, 52 per cent identified themselves as non-aboriginal and 42 per cent as aboriginal. Survey respondents also had the option of identifying themselves as undeclared.
