Mayor Bill Comaskey and Adrian DeGroot, president of the board of North Central Development, unveiled tentative plans to build a new train station in Thompson, with Comaskey calling the facility that was there a "disgrace."

The provincial government approved in principle the establishment of a long-term care facility in Thompson, MLA Steve Ashton announced. The centre would cost $5.3 million and be on the hospital grounds with a tunnel linking it to the Thompson General Hospital.
