Gunpoint robbery in Thompson

Suspect wielding a sawed-off shotgun committed armed robbery in Thompson on March 26.

Thompson police are trying to identify suspects in a March 26 armed robbery committed by a man with a sawed-off shotgun.

In an April 12 press release, the first official mention the Manitoba RCMP made of the gunpoint theft, which occurred more than two weeks ago, police said that a 43-year-old man was robbed in the parking lot of a Public Road business by a suspect with a sawed-off shotgun just before midnight on March 26.

The suspect with the gun fled the scene of the crime with another man and a woman, and was described as wearing a black and grey sweater, a red ball cap and runners. His companions were clad in dark clothing.

The victim was not injured during the robbery.

Surveillance video captured images of the suspects and Thompson RCMP are asking anyone who may be able to identify them to call the detachment at 204-677-6909 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477. Tips can also be submitted online at www.mantiobacrimestoppers.com.
