University College of the North (UCN) had a booth at the CHTM Tradeshow, which took place at the C. A. Nesbitt Arena last weekend.

The CHTM tradeshow, which was held this year in the C. A. Nesbitt Arena from May 7-9, was filled with booths from companies all over Manitoba.

There were many booths set up catering to those with a sweet tooth, including Sweet Sensations, a Thompson-based business specializing in cakes, cookies and candies; new local business, Jelly Bean Junction; and Victorian Epicure. Those looking for a Mother's Day gift at the tradeshow could choose assorted colourful springtime baskets from local business Bountiful Baskets, which featured baskets full of gourmet food, chocolate, bath and body essentials, toys and more. InSPAration Day Spa was also represented at the trade show letting people know about their spa packages and gift certificates.

For the health conscious connoisseurs, Sunrider, a company which sells natural products, teas, and sweetening alternatives, was giving out free samples of lemon and cinnamon tea, while V.K. Imports, a company that specializes in aromatherapy, had an assortment of holistic healing products.

The tradeshow didn't just appeal, however, to those looking to do some shopping. There were plenty of informational booths set up from both local and provincial groups. Spirit Way Inc. had a large booth with a scale model of the Centre of Aboriginal Art, a $10 to $12 million project the group would like to see in Thompson in the near future, as well as information about the Spirit Way trail and a poster boasting Thompson as the wolf capital of Canada.

Service Canada was also on hand, as well as various towns and R.M.s from throughout the province, such as Swan Valley, Carman, Boissevain and more.

One of the first booths to greet people coming into the C. A. Nesbitt Arena was the big blue UCN booth, which had information about the various courses perspective students can take and the educational facility.
