Cab driver hospitalized for injuries from Feb. 26 assault in Thompson

A 20-year-old man faces a charge of assault causing bodily harm in relation to the incident.

A man faces charges and a taxi driver was hospitalized after a Feb. 26 assault inside a cab in Thompson.

A 20-year-old man from Oxford House was charged with assault causing bodily harm after a cab driver was badly beaten inside his vehicle in Thompson Feb. 26.

The assault occurred around 9 p.m. outside a business on Mystery Lake Road and the injured 40-year-old driver was treated first at Thompson General Hospital before being transported to Winnipeg for further treatment.

Thompson RCMP attended the scene and located the suspect, who was arrested without incident.

Adrian Crane is charged with assault causing bodily harm and three counts of failing to comply with conditions. He was remanded into custody.
