Thompson Lions Club President, Gordon Olafson and Secretary Nick DiVirgilio recently presented the BRHA audiology department with a cheque in the amount of $18,000. This is the second donation, which amounts to a total of $36,000, which went to the purchase of diagnostic hearing screening equipment.

All babies born at the Thompson General Hospital have the opportunity for hearing assessment, through the Provincial I-Hear screening program, before they are discharged from hospital. The purchase of this ABR diagnostic equipment allows further testing for newborns that require additional follow-up after the initial screen.

This donation was a joint effort between the Thompson Lions Club and the Lions Club of Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario with each contributing $18,000.

Representatives from the Thompson Lions Club gave a donation of $18,000 for screening and diagnostic hearing equipment for the BRHA.
