Sixty-seven Thompson Tumblers gymnasts, including 22 from the gymnastics club’s competitive program and 45 from its recreational program, took part in a mini-meet at the Thompson Regional Community Centre March 9.
Competitors ranged in age from three to 15 years old and completed in three sessions.“It was a great day not only for our gymnasts but for our coaches and for all parents who attended,” said Thompson Tumblers coach Dawn Lundrigan. “While our competitive program gets to travel to other competitions, this is the only competition for our recreational program. All recreational gymnasts are awarded a bronze, silver or gold ribbon for each apparatus and a bronze, silver or gold medal for all-around placement based on their own personal score. The mini-meet is also a chance for the community to come out and check out our program.”
