The Thompson Petite Ringette team travelled to Oakbank Mb on December 6 - 8 2013 to compete in Springfield Ringette Tournament.

The Ring Ravens started off the tournament with their first game against the Brandon Blizzard. As parents, grandparents and coaches nervously and excitedly watched, the girls failed to disappoint! Thompson drew first blood with a goal 52 seconds into the game and continued to widen their lead with 4 unanswered goals in the first period coming out on top with a final score of 9-4.

The Ravens then faced the Dakota Domion Warriors from Winnipeg for their second game. Thompson again came out guns blazing! Netting their first two goals three minutes into the game and never looking back to finish off the game 10-1.

In the last game in round robin play Thompson was up against the Maples Monarchs from North Winnipeg. The Ravens once again started off the game with an early goal three minutes into it and clinched their position in the finals with yet another win with a score of 10-3.

The Ravens had to face Brandon yet again for the race for gold. Thompson again started off with the first goal 1:37 into the game but Brandon tied it up with a goal at 10:56. The Ravens answered back 38 seconds later. After an exciting first period with the score 4-2 for Thompson, the girls From the North scored two goals 12 seconds apart eight minutes into the second period and then scored two more to guarantee their Golden Victory with a final score of 8-2.

The girls worked extra hard during all of the practices and it really showed! The petites were like a well-oiled machine with terrific coaching by Serena Stroppa, Rachel McIvor and Rhonda Goebel.

Well done girls! Wishing you the same success at the Transcona tournament in January!
