RDPC junior basketball teams compete in season’s first tournaments

R.D. Parker Collegiate’s junior basketball teams played in their first tournaments of the season Jan. 10-11, with the girls’ squad winning one game.

The Trojan girls started out the Ste. Anne Lynx junior girls basketball invitational with a 41-25 victory over the Sanford Sabres, then fell 50-18 to the eventual champions Edward Schreyer School in the semifinals. RDPC’s final game was a 49-27 loss to the École Louis Riel Voyageurs in the third-place game, earning them a fourth-place finish.

The RDPC boys were winless at the Vincent Massey High School junior boys tournament in Brandon, falling 83-19 to the hosts, 56-37 to Crocus Plains Regional Secondary and 79-18 to Neelin High School.
