Norway House basketball player named rural high school athlete of the week

Grade 11 Norway House student Tiffany Paul was named the Manitoba High Schools Athletic Association’s rural athlete of the week Jan. 23.

A member of the Helen Betty Osborne Ininiw Education Resource Centre Huskies basketball team, Paul led her team to a 7-2 record while averaging 23 points per game as the Huskies captured the championship at the fourth-annual H.I.T. tournament in Norway House.

“She was relentless on offence, scoring in a variety of ways from all over the court,” said her coach Michael Knox. “Her defensive pressure was evident throughout the tournament as she came up with numerous steals and deflections during each game. Tiffany has a great work ethic on the court and excellent conditioning. Her positive attitude is infectious, and she helps keep the girls in high spirits with her sense of humour."

Paul also plays soccer, volleyball, badminton, fast pitch, and track and field.
