R.D. Parker Collegiate's senior basketball teams finished first and third at the Bill McDonald Memorial Tournament in The Pas Dec. 14-16, with the girls' squad returning home as champions.
The Trojan girls clinched the trophy with a 52-32 victory over the Hapnot Collegiate Institute Kopper Kweens from Flin Flon in the final after knocking off the Westgate Wings 67-64 in the semifinals and opening the tournament with an 88-31 win over Nipawin. RDPC's Ashley Williams was named tournament MVP and Hannah Murdy was named to the tournament all-star team.
The boys' team went out on a winning note with a 104-61 win over Porcupine Plain in the third place game. David King was named the Trojans' game star. RDPC fell 95-74 to the Elmwood Giants in the semifinal with Matthew Kaspick named the game star. The boys opened the tournament with a 96-29 victory over Hudson Bay.
