Melissa Moran of the Gillam School Timberwolves is the Manitoba High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) rural high school athlete of the week.
A multi-sport athlete who also plays basketball and volleyball as well as an honour roll student, Moran captured gold in the junior girls' singles badminton and in cross-country running at the Frontier School Division games held recently in Cranberry Portage.
“Melissa is a great athlete and leader in our junior varsity sports programming in Gillam,” said her coach Blair McCulloch. “She competes in all sports that we participate in and she is consistently the MVP on our teams. We are very fortunate to have at our school the athlete, student and role model that Melissa is.”
