Eight players from the Thompson Lacrosse Association were named to Manitoba's provincial peewee and bantam box lacrosse teams that will represent the province at the box lacrosse minor national championships in Whitby, Ont. Aug. 1-7.

Isaac Babulic, Jayden Bayer, Lance Laycock and goaltender Glenn Shatford were named to the peewee provincial squad. For three of them, it will be the first time on the provincial squad, but Shatford is back for the second consecutive year. Last season, he had three assists while backstopping the team at nationals, where it compiled two wins and nine losses and lost 3-2 to Nova Scotia in the B-side bronze medal game.

The Thompson players who made the bantam squad are Myles Bennett, Trent Laycock, Taylor Ritchie and Mark Steeves. Ritchie was a teammate of Shatford's on the peewee team last year, picking up one assist and two penalty minutes over 11 games at the national championships.
