To the Editor:

I am writing in response to NDP candidate Danielle Adams’s letter to the editor last week. In this letter, she states that privatizing air ambulance will put lives at risk. How did she come this conclusion? What hard data supports this claim?
The inconvenient truth is that for many years, including the time her party was in power, the private sector has been doing a bulk of the air ambulance work in Manitoba already. Does she have any tangible data, based on the numerous years of private air ambulance in our province, that confirms that private air ambulance puts lives at risk? This is an extremely bold claim she makes that is almost slanderous to our private air ambulance sector. Surely she must have some data to back this up?
Ms. Adams, I hoped for better from the NDP party this time. Instead we are seeing the same fear-mongering type of politics from the party again. Why should we trust the NDP any more than last time when it seems that things have changed very little from then to now? Please argue the facts and spare us the fear-mongering. It really would be in the best interests of your party to do so. Get some credibility back by having a better plan, not by fear-mongering.
