To the Editor:

I just loved Donna Wilson's Out & About column Dec. 23. My husband Fred and I miss Newfoundland so much andwe were planning a trip this Christmas but couldn't get a flight out as we waited toolate.

Next year we are going home, God willing. I think most families share traditions and in our family our Christmas tradition is all the family gets together at our house for a big Newfie meal on Christmas day with Santa and all the gifts are passed out.

Thegrandchildren just look forward to a evening at Nanny and Poppy's house; they know they can eat all they want and tons of dessert

After the mealmy husband Fred gets out his guitar and plays a few songs. Over the past few years we have rang in the new year with the grandchildren plus otherchildrenas the parents go out to enjoy the evening with friends.

This year we have a new foster babyweek-old who spent Christmas with us andwill ring in the new yearalong with grandchildren. I hope to read more responses to Donna's column and find out more of the family traditions that happen in Thompson.
