Many years ago when I moved to this region, one of the first people I befriended was Dr. Alan Rich.

Years later, when we relocated from Lynn Lake, our family naturally went back to our family doctor from the ‘70s, Dr. Rich.

Since he was totally dedicated to his patients, you could count on a fairly lengthy wait at his clinic in the Professional Building. One of the children went down with a virus and, after waiting almost three hours, I approached his nurse and said we would come back after work the next day, and rebooked.

Around 10 p.m. that same day, the front doorbell rang and there stood ‘Doc’ Rich. I was shocked and delighted at the same time. He came inside and he treated my child in the comfort of home. We were so grateful.

Dr. Rich was “the real deal” and this community was a better place for having Dr. Alan Rich in our midst.

Grieving for our loss.
