History repeating itself

To the Editor:

Any person who follows Canadian federal politics would have laughed out loud after the October results were tallied. Just like his father, Pierre Elliot Trudeau, young Justin received a clear message: some of his supporters were definitely not happy with the party’s performance in its first term. Senior Liberals are aware that Conservative leader Andrew Scheer was Justin’s biggest asset.

One occurrence that disheartened me, personally, was the re-emergence of the Bloc Quebecois, who are beating the separatist drum again. If any party’s agenda is the dismantling of our nation, why are we required to pay their salaries and living expenses? Alberta is contemplating separation, so let both Alberta and Quebec leave, but this time could our entire nation vote in a plebiscite, putting the foolish threat to rest, once and for all?

Nobody won this election.
