To the Editor:
When people talk about hidden gems on TV, they are often referring to a secret but beautiful vacation spot or a small, off-the-beaten-path restaurant that has food that takes your breath away. Well, we have a hidden gem in Thompson: the public library! Books to read, books to listen to, movies, the internet and a nice, clean, quiet atmosphere. And, to top it all off, one of the, if not the, friendliest staffs at any business in Thompson.

I’d venture to say that, other than when my dog was alive, nobody in this town has a friendlier greeting for me when I walk through their doors. I have no idea what they get paid, but I think a raise would be well-deserved.
