Excellent care through Thompson General Hospital

To the Editor:

My daughter recently had gallbladder surgery at Thompson General Hospital. From the pre-op appointment with Rachel to the operating room all of the nurses and doctors that had any contact with her were very professional, compassionate and caring. Not only to the patient but also to our family.

After surgery my daughter still was not feeling better and progressively got worse instead of better. She went back to the hospital and again was treated by different nurses and different doctors. All again giving her amazing care. She had to be medevaced to Winnipeg to see a surgeon to do another procedure to remove stones from a duct. This procedure could not be done in Thompson.

Staff at Thompson General Hospital was quick to make arrangements to fly her out and flight nurse and crew at Fast Air again showed such good care for their patient.

On the morning of her discharge two doctors that knew she was there popped in to see her because they were on the floor and just wanted to see how she was doing even though she was no longer in their care. That shows care and compassion.

After seeing the care and professionalism of the Thompson General Hospital staff for my daughter I wanted your readers to know that in my opinion if you need to be cared for at our hospital you will be in good hands.

I am one very thankful mom.
