To the Editor:
After reading in the paper that the city is cutting the day camps I am wondering what the children will be doing this summer? Two months is a long time to have nothing to do but roam the streets.
As the former Block Parent chairperson for Thompson for years I see the need for more than the two or three Block Parent homes in town. Now, more than ever, the children will have nothing to do. Why are we not doing more to keep them occupied and safe?
As Lynn Taylor said, “We need incentives for people to move here and stay here.” I hope the city will reconsider their decision.
