Letter: One, two, three strikes, you’re out

To the Editor:

As our elected Member of Parliament, Ms. Niki Ashton, you are a disgrace to the office you were elected to to serve as our NDP MP. Ignoring travel ban to holiday in Europe? Strike one.

When your constituents were displaced by the Churchill rail line incident, Manitoba NDP leader Wab Kinew did the groundwork with the federal Liberal government to ensure expedient restarting of rail service in your riding. Strike two.

As taxpayers, we expect ethical behaviour from our federal Member of Parliament, something you failed to exhibit on your European holiday.

You are either a federal servant of our riding or a career politician. No middle ground. In this case, your actins give credence to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s WE scandal, only in your situation to weasel your way out of public scrutiny and walk away unscathed. Strike two, Niki Ashton, and, like a good game of softball – three strikes and you’re out.
