Peacefully with family by her side on January 25, 2017 Mrs. Winnie Stuart at Thompson Northern Spirit Manor age 87 of Thompson, MB.
Winnie leaves to mourn her four sons and two daughters. Bill (Sue) Stuart of St. Adolphe, MB, Leslie (Darell) Whenham of Kleefield, MB, Dave (Cheryl) Stuart of Twin Valley, MN, Fred(Rick) (Louise) Stuart of Winnipeg, MB, Robert Stuart of Winnipeg MB, and Karen (Paulo) Correia of Thompson, MB. Grandchildren James, Greg (Lorraine), Matthew (Jenn), Jason (Aleasha), Carrie (James), Kelly (Shaun), Tammy (Andrew), Theressa, Collin, Chase, Ashley (Eric), Raymond, Allison and 12 great grandchildren.
Winnie was predeceased by her parents Grace and Ernie Stubbs, husband Peter and daughter Janet Lynne.
Winnie was born April 18,1929 in Winnipeg, MB where she grew up in Norwood. She attended school and the Norwood United Church. Winnie worked at Anderson Animal Hospital where she met Peter. They lived in St. Vital where they raised their children and many foster children. Winnie and Peter moved to Minnedosa, MB in 1967 and operated Minnedosa Bowl until 1970. They then relocated to Thompson, MB to start a new adventure with their family. Winnie and Peter ran Thompson Lanes for 40 years with their children. Winnie truly enjoyed her time at the lanes and after at the C.A. Nesbit Arena concession. She loved seeing all the young children take part in sport.

Pallbearers: Jason Whenham, Greg Stuart, Matthew Stuart, Collin Stuart, Raymond Correia and Chase Stuart.
Funeral Service was held on January 30th, 2017 at 1:00 pm at the Lutheran-United Church of Thompson with Reverend Leslie King officiating. Interment followed at Thompson Cemetery.
Our heartfelt thanks go out to the nurses and staff of the Spirit Manor (PCH- personal care home) for their dedication and care they provided for our mom/grandma in the past several years, and to Susan Brown for her friendship and compassion.
