Clifford Morton

Cliff was born in Miami, Manitoba on April 7, 1938 and was raised on the family farm in Somerset, Manitoba the second of four brothers. He joined the Royal Canadian Navy in 1955 and served on both East and West coasts.

He joined the Royal Canadian Navy in 1955 and served on both East and West coasts. After Cliff left the navy, he moved to Thompson, Manitoba and went to work for INCO as an underground miner. “Mort” was an active member of Local 6166 United Steelworkers of America and served in various executive positions including president. He was also an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion in Thompson and later in Killarney and served for many years as Sergeant at Arms for the Colour Party.
Cliff has 3 daughters and 7 grandchildren. In 1986 Cliff met Ann Hutchinson and they married in 1988 and Cliff gained another daughter and 3 sons. Cliff and Ann retired and moved to Killarney in 1995. Cliff was a very enthusiastic golfer and curler and could be found at the golf club or curling club when he wasn’t at home cutting grass and having a cold beer under his favourite tree.
Survived by wife Ann, daughters Tracey, Alana, Shawna, Diana and step-sons Richard and Gerry. Brother Tom, grandchildren Kelly, Kayla, Shalen, Louisa, Lenin, Evan and Kyle. Nieces Tracey and Sydney.
Predeceased by mother Eva and father George. Brother’s Harold and Doug and step-son Kelly.
