Lord love a duck!
Peacefully on November 2, 2018 Dad passed away with his family by his side.
Dad was born in Rorketon Manitoba on September 1, 1938 the 4th of 5 children born to George and Olga Laycock. Dad went to school in Rorketon until Grade 11 when he went to live with his sister and brother-in-law, Eileen and Vern McIntyre in Elphinstone for Grade 12.
Dad worked at the family garage in Rorketon throughout his teen years. Dad later moved to Calgary in the late 1950’s where he met our mother, Gail Prowse. They were married on July 31, 1960 and had two children in Calgary, Darren in 1961 and Diana in 1962. The family then moved to Edmonton where Karen was born in 1964. Dad then took his family back to Rorketon and once again worked at the family garage. It is here they had their final child in 1966 Glenn who was born in Dauphin. In 1967 Dad moved his family one more time to take a job at Inco. Dad and Mom lived in Thompson for 26 years until Dad took early retirement due to his health.
In 1993 Dad and Mom moved to their home by Lake Manitoba at Toutes Aides and enjoyed many wonderful years entertaining family and friends. Mom and Dad moved to Ste. Rose in 2011. Dad loved all his friends and family and after Mom’s passing in 2017 he moved in with Diana and Tim.
Dad was predeceased by his parents, his sister Doris Dustan, his wife Gail and his great grandson Bo Ceppetelli. He leaves to mourn his passing and cherish many fond memories; his sister Eileen McIntyre, his brothers Jim (Emily), and Roy (Carol), his children Darren (Lisa), Diana (Tim) White, Karen (Gary) Ceppetelli, and Glenn (Kim), his grandchildren Trevor, Lacey (Mike), Josh White ,Derek (Ann), Brett (Tanysha) Ceppetelli, Amy and Travis Laycock, Brady, Trent and Lance Laycock, his great grandchildren Brooke, Nolan and Cooper Shaw, Quinn and Connor Ceppetelli along with numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Dr Soile for all her care with Dad. Thanks to Dale and Monique Hopfner and all of his other friends at the office.
In keeping with Dad’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal services will be held.
Flowers are gratefully declined. Should friends so desire, donations may be made in memory of Raymond to a charity of one’s choice.
