Two men, aged 39 and 49, were found dead in their 22-foot boat Oct. 14 after being reported overdue a few hours earlier.

The boat was found around 4 p.m. Oct. 14 with the two men dead inside it. It was on a gravel shore and was partially submerged in water.

The boat had been reported missing around 2:30 p.m. that afternoon.

Police say two boats carrying five fishermen left Moose Lake headed for Big Island Camp, about 10 kilometres southeast, around 2 p.m. Oct. 13 but only one boat with three people on board arrived.

The weather was poor overnight with blowing snow and high winds. Several residents went looking for the boat and its occupants on the morning of Oct. 14.

Autopsies are scheduled and the RCMP continues to investigate.
