Close to 800 Manitoba Hydro customers in St. Theresa Point and Wasagamack in the Island Lake region of northeastern Manitoba have no electricity because of a burnt power pole, Manitoba Hydro said around 10:45 a.m. Aug. 15.
A spokesperson for the Crown corporation said the crew on site was still investigating why the pole burned, but insulator failure is suspected.
Manitoba Hydro hopes to have power restored to 785 affected customers in the area by 6 p.m.
