A 30-year-old woman was taken to hospital in unstable condition late Aug. 22 after being stabbed in the face and chest in front of the Thompson Inn.

Police were dispatched to the stabbing at 11:18 p.m. and arrested three male youths aged 12 to 14. Criminal charges are pending and police are seeking witnesses.

Tiffany Beardy said the last thing she remembers is walking towards the Thompson Inn with her cousins, when one of them stopped at The Hub to use the washroom. The other cousin who was with her got beaten up by the attackers.

“I was the only one who got stabbed,” Beardy told the Thompson Citizen. “She said she only saw girls and boys and some of their faces she doesn't recognize but she said she will if she ever saw them again.”

Beardy says she received messages from people in the area when the attack occurred, one who heard Beardy yelling and another who said she saw two girls and a boy running away from he scene.

“I want to say what happen to me but I can't cause it happen so fast,” Beardy said in a Facebook post. “I just woke up in the hospital. I don't remember or feel the stabbings being done to me and laying there unresponsive with my heart dying out from lost blood. I’m very lucky to be even here right now. I cried so much thinking of my babies if I didn't make it on time to the hospital.”

Beardy later posted photos showing the location of the cuts on her face and videos of her wounds on Facebook.

“I want to show you guys what those kids did to me when clearly they didn't care if they killed me,” Beardy wrote. “It’s like they wanted me dead that’s for sure seeing how they cut me and stabbed me on my face and body.”
