Update: RCMP release surveillance photo of thief who broke into The Hub and stole liquor

Theft occurred minutes after attempted break-in at Liquor Mart

Booze-thirsty thieves tried to break into two Thompson businesses less than a block from each other in the stretch of 12 minutes early Saturday morning, succeeding in their second attempt and robbing a restaurant of some liquor.

Thompson RCMP were dispatched to an attempted break-and-enter at Liquor Mart in the City Centre Mall parking lot at 5:21 a.m. Feb. 22. The attempted break-in was unsuccessful, though one of the windows was smashed and multiple suspects were observed fleeing the scene.

At 5:33 a.m., police were called to a break-and-enter at The Hub restaurant on Churchill Drive. The perpetrator gained entry into the building and escaped with an unknown quantity of liquor. Thompson RCMP released surveillance photos Feb. 25 of the thief inside and outside the premises.
