University College of the North (UCN) cancelled all in-person classes at its Thompson and The Pas campuses and post-secondary access centres March 16-20 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Clinical classes, practicum placements and other off-site programming can continue in accordance with the priorities of the health, education and other facilities where those activities are occurring.

UCN’s libraries will remain open but students are expected to practise social distancing to reduce the possibility of being exposed to COVID-19, also known as the novel coronavirus.

UCN staff and faculty are working on plans to change course delivery to better protect students, faculty and staff from possible COVID-19 exposure.  These plans may include online courses or implementing social distancing techniques in classrooms. Specific plans will be developed for each program that UCN offers.
