Traffic stop and house search turn up nearly half a pound of cocaine

Thompson RCMP seized about seven ounces of cocaine during a July 17 traffic stop on Princeton Drive and a search of a residence in the Juniper area the following day. One man faces charges so far and the investigation continues.

Thompson RCMP seized about seven ounces of cocaine in a July 17 traffic stop and a residence search the following day.

Police stopped a vehicle on Princeton Drive around 7:15 p.m. on Friday. An ensuing search recovered approximately 4.5 ounces of cocaine as well as cash, resulting in the arrest of a 34-year-old Thompson man. He faces charges including possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and failure to comply with a release order. 

About six hours later, at 1:35 a.m. July 18, RCMP executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a house on Hickory Avenue in the Juniper area, seizing about 2.5 ounces of cocaine, packaging material and cutting agents. Investigation related to this search warrant continues.
